Gas Prices Still Falling But Not That Much Here

Don't Buy Gas Here? Prices 20-30 Cents Higher

LABELLE, FL. -- Average retail gasoline prices in Florida have fallen 7.7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.22/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 8,237 gas outlets in Florida. This compares with the national average that has fallen 5.4 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.12/gallon.

But in Hendry and Glades county, Florida prices are still 20 to 30 cent higher than Florida average prices. Although prices are falling, they historically don't fall as much as surrounding counties including Lee where prices are always much lower and in line with the rest of Florida. Motorists can drive out of the county and save several dollars on a fillup.

Including the change in gas prices in Florida during the past week, prices yesterday were 117.7 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 42.9 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has decreased 48.6 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 118.7 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.
