Richard C Knowles, age 78, of Clewiston, passed away January 23, 2015, in Clewiston.
He was born May 3, 1936, in LaBelle, FL, to the late Floyd Ferris and the late Beneda Ruth (Emrich) Knowles. Mr. Knowles married Lenora E. Howard; she survives. He was a member and attended faithfully Evangel Assembly of God Church. He served his country in the United States Army from January 1960 to March 1962. He worked as a Farm Manager for 32 years for United States Sugar Corporation.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years: Lenora E. Knowles, two sons: Steven "Craig" Knowles, Michael Knowles and one daughter: Carrie Jones, eight grandchildren, one brother: Keith Knowles of Clewiston, Fla. and three sisters: Peggy McGahee of Clewiston, Fla., Barbara Ann Knowles of Clewiston, Fla., Bonnie Sue Knowles of Clewiston, FL. Several cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Preceded in death by his: parents, daughter: Lorrie Knowles, sister: Darlene Tatum, brothers: Floyd Ferris Knowles; and David Knowles.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 10:00 am at Evangel Assembly Of God, Clewiston with Pastor Gary Corley officiating. Interment will be Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clewiston. Visitation will be Monday from 06:00-08:00pm at Akin-Davis Funeral Home, Clewiston, FL.
