James Billie II Crashes Into Canal Sunday Morning

James E. Billie II crashed into a canal Sunday morning about 3:50 a.m. and was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

A 2003 Ford F-150, driven by James Edward Billie II, 24 of LaBelle was southbound on Trebol Street, south of Horse Club Avenue in Montura Ranch Estates in central Hendry county as it came to a water filled canal south of the roadway. The FHP says Billie failed to bring the truck to a stop.

As a result, it departed the roadway and the front of the pickup truck then struck the south face of the canal before coming to final rest partially submerged. Subsequent to the crash, Billie was transported by Hendry County EMS to Hendry Regional Medical Center in Clewiston.

Billie was later transported by EMS to Saint Mary's Hospital in Palm Beach County where he is in stable condition.

Billie is the owner of Kree's Trees Inc. and the son of James Billie of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Bille is being charged with careless driving, said the FHP.

And they did a DUI field check, or realizing who he was...decided that would not be prudent?
