CLEWISTON, FL. -- (July 14, 2023) – Please be advised that beginning Monday, July 17, 2023, Hendry County’s contractor, Manhattan Road & Bridge Company, will be conducting sidewalk construction on Carolina Avenue from 13th Street to 11th Street and Florida Avenue from 10th Street to 7th Street in Harlem, FL.
The project includes sidewalk construction, drainage improvements, and driveway repairs. The speed limit will be reduced through the project area.
Motorists and pedestrians should expect lane closures and possible delays throughout the duration of the project and allow extra time for their commute.
Motorists and pedestrians should use extra caution when traveling through the work zone.
The project is expected to have a completion time of approximately one hundred twenty (120) days to one hundred fifty (150) days.
· Construction Start: July 17, 2023
· Construction End: December 14, 2023
Please note that this schedule is tentative and subject to change. The Hendry County Engineering Department will notify of any changes.
The project is 100% funded by the Florida Department of Transportation via the Local Agency Program federal grant in the amount of $899,000.00.
