Fort Denaud Bridge

Aerial photo of Fort Denaud just a few miles west of LaBelle, Fl. on the Caloosahatchee River. This scenic river location has one of the few remaining swing bridges left in Florida. The Fort Denaud Bridge "swings" open to allow boat traffic to pass down the river. Fort Denaud was the location of an early 19th century Army encampment.

    Hi,
I'm babysitting two grandchildren the first week of July -- in Naples. I'm looking for day trips to do something a bit different with them. It's been since my own childhood since I've been to Ft. Denaud. Is there a trail with markers, a museum, good food, anything that would hold their little interests? Thanks a lot, Dee
