US Sugar Corp To Dedicate Restored Steam Locomotive October 1 in Clewiston

CLEWISTON, FL. -- U.S. Sugar, community leaders and guests will gather to dedicate its historic steam locomotive Engine No. 148 on Thursday, October 1st at 10 a.m.

The recently-restored train will haul the first cane of the company’s 90th harvest season from field to mill with a brief stop at a private, socially-distant event at Elks Lodge’s 5-Acre Field. The gathering will feature speeches from company leaders as well as the christening of the train.
