LABELLE, FL. -- The annual Swamp Cabbage Festival kicked off this weekend with a parade down Bridge Street, and stunning overflights with smoke by six warplanes.
The six restored Korean and World War II era Navy and Air Force aircraft will be featured at the LaBelle Airport this weekend.
The weekend festivities will be continuing with food vendors, arts and crafts, and music at Barron Park on the Caloosahachee River through Sunday afternoon.
Theme this year is "Planes,Train, and Automobiles: A Travel Through History," as community groups, schools, churches, and businesses showed off their creativity in decorated floats, trucks and ATVs.
An airshow is scheduled at 4:30 Saturday and 12:00 Sunday at the LaBelle Municipal Airport.
Paid activities include a Rodeo at the rodeo grounds.
