Earnest Rawls passed away peacefully on Saturday October 19, 2019. He was born in Cleveland Florida on August 2, 1932. He graduated from Charlotte High School and the University of Florida and served in the US Army for two years.
He is predeceased in death by his parents George and Meekie Rawls and eight siblings. He is survived by his loving wife Becky Rawls, his daughter Wendy Costa and son-in-law Joe Costa of Jupiter FL, his sister Juanita Jacobs of Pigeon Forge, TN, and long time family friend Cheryl Eby Gutjahr and her son Reese.
He was a real estate broker in Clewiston for over 30 years. Always prepared to show a property any day of the week. He was a member of the Clewiston Lions Club and the Clewiston Chamber of Commerce. He was also an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Clewiston.
He enjoyed traveling with family and friends, fishing and golf in prior years. He especially enjoyed watching his Gators play!
The family gives special thanks to his caregivers that have been with him these last several months and so appreciate their love and kindness.
Visitation will be Wednesday October 23, 2019 at 3:30pm at the First United Methodist Church with the service following at 4:30pm. Burial will take place at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clewiston on Thursday October 24, 2019 at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church of Clewiston 352 W Arcade Ave. Clewiston, FL 33440 or to the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association 14010 Roosevelt Blvd. #709 Clearwater, FL 33762.
Arrangements are being handled by Akin-Davis Funeral Home-Clewiston Chapel.
