LAKEPORT, FL. -- From the FHP crash report:
Vehicle 1 (sedan) was traveling north on State Road 78 at County Road 721 in Lakeport at 2:33 a.m. Friday. Vehicle 2 (semi tractor trailer) was traveling south on State Road 78.
Vehicle 1 entered the southbound lane of State Road 78 to pass another vehicle. Vehicle 1 and Vehicle 2 evasively swerved toward the northbound lane. The front of Vehicle 1 collided with the front of Vehicle 2.
Vehicle 2 came to rest in the ditch along County Road 721. Vehicle 1 came to rest on Stata Road 78.
Driver 1, 23 year old male from Stuart, Fl. was pronounced deceased on scene. Driver 2, 31 year old male from Clewiston had minor injuries.
