At 2 pm Friday, Vehicle 1, driven by 17-year old male from Fort Denaud, Fl in Hendry Cuonty was traveling west on State Road 82 in Lee County, at a high rate of speed, approaching the T Intersection of Harcourt Avenue.
Vehicle 2 (Phantom Vehicle) was traveling west on State Road 82, at a high rate of speed, approaching the T Intersection of Harcourt Avenue.
Vehicle 3 driven by 18-year old female from Lehigh Acres, and Vehicle 4 driven by 44-year old male from North Fort Myers were traveling west on State Road 82, approaching the T Intersection of Harcourt Avenue, ahead of Vehicle 1 and Vehicle 2.
Vehicle 1 collided with Vehicle 3. The impact forced Vehicle 3 into Vehicle 4.
Post collision, Vehicle 1 veered right onto the north side curbed shoulder, collided with a street sign, and launched into the tree line.
Passenger 1 / Vehicle 1, 17 year old male from Lehigh Acres was ejected and pronounced deceased on scene. Driver 1, Passenger 2 and 3 in Vehicle 1 sustained injuries and were transported to an area hospital.
Post collision, Vehicle 3 and 4 came to rest on the north side curbed shoulder.
Vehicle 2 did not remain on scene, and remains unknown at this time. Anyone with information regarding Vehicle 2 (white in color) contact *FHP or Crime stoppers.
The crash remains under investigation.
