Hendry County School District Response:

Good afternoon, parents and guardians. The Hendry County School District has received several Fortify Florida tips today. First, let me start by saying thank you so much for being vigilant about school Safety and reporting the information you are hearing or seeing. Your child's safety is Mr. Swindle's and the Hendry County school district's number one priority.

We continue to improve the security of our schools with or without threats being made. The Hendry County Sheriff's Office is investigating the tips we received today. These tips are contained in the West District of Hendry County. Currently, we have no evidence to support this as a valid threat.

These threats are a form of terrorism that is meant to disrupt your child's education. We must stay vigilant and investigate all possible threats to our children, but we must not allow this terrorism to affect our children's education.

The Hendry County Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with the Hendry County School Board, will continue to put security measures in place to keep our children safe.

We will have extra law enforcement presence and use weapons detection systems at several locations in the district. If there is a threat to our students, we will let you know and take the appropriate measures to eliminate the threat. As always, continue the strategy of "see something, say something," if you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact your District, school administration, or the Director of School Safety. We will let you know when we receive more information.
