Arrests On I-75 For Assault And Firearm Possession

Driver And Passenger Arrested For Projectile Assault On Interstate
FORT MYERS, FL. -- A driver and his passenger were both arrested on I-75 after the driver allegedly threw a soda can at another vehicle and pointed a firearm out his window.

On January 2, 2014 at approximately 12:00 pm, the Florida Highway Patrol received a “Be On The Look Out” report for a reckless driving green Jaguar entering the southbound I-75 entrance ramp at mile marker 138 (Martin Luther King Boulevard). 

The initial report was that the driver of the Jaguar threw a full soda can and pointed a firearm out of the window at another vehicle. A few minutes later, Florida Highway Patrol Troopers located the Jaguar southbound on I-75 at mile marker 128 and initiated a traffic stop.

As a result of the stop, the Jaguars driver, identified as Alejandro Garcia Aguirre age 24, was arrested for several felonies to include firearm possession, throwing a deadly projectile, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia. 

The passenger of the Jaguar, Willie Brown age 22, was charged with a felony firearms possession charge. Both the driver and passenger were transported and booked into the Lee County Jail. There were no reported injuries in this incident.
