Rex Earl Daniels Dies At 60

Rex Earl Daniels passed away on March 28, 2015. He was born on November 8, 1954 to James and Irene Gomez Daniels.

He spent his childhood years in Alva attending school, and enjoying a rural lifestyle with his brother, sisters and cousins. They liked to swim, go fishing, ride horses and help out on the grandparent's ranch. After graduating from North Fort Myers High School, Earl married Linda McInnis of Alva. Soon after, he was called to the ministry and became an ordained minister in the Church of God. He has served in many cities throughout Florida. Five years ago, he and wife Linda returned home to pastor the Alva Church of God and be close to family. Earl is a fifth-generation Floridian. He is the grandson of former Lee County Commissioner Kenneth Daniels and wife Frieda, great grandson of Alva pioneers Lonnie and Annie Dyess Daniels, and great, great grandson of Hampton and Matilda Daniels.

He leaves behind his devoted wife Linda, parents James and Irene Daniels, daughter Dana March (Craig), sons Michael Daniels (Sara), Todd Daniels, grandchildren Brayden, Aden, Ean, Morgan and Caden, sisters Betty Sue Moreno (Pete), Kathy Gail Daniels and many family members. His brother Don Alan preceded him in death in 1974.

Visitation will be at the Akin-Davis Funeral Home, 13932 Palm Beach Boulevard, Fort Myers Shores, FL on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will held at the Alva Church of God at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 2, 2015. Interment will follow at the Alva Cemetery.
