ALVA, FL.-- A Lee County School bus driven by Kelli Hall-Thomas, 54 of Lehigh Acres with 31 student passengers was traveling east on the left turn lane of eastbound State Road 80 (Palm Beach Boulevard), approaching Old Olga Road at 8:21. a.m. Thursday as Lindsey Bottoms of LaBelle was traveling west on SR-80 approaching the same intersection.
The school bus turned left toward Old Olga Road and traveled into the path of the smaller Ford Edge. The front right of the Ford collided with the rear right side of the bus.
There were no reported injuries from this crash. There was no roadway blockage as a result of this crash. School District officials responded to the scene.
The bus driver was cited for failing to yield right of way.
