Judy Vann Dies In Crash

CLEWISTON, FL. -- A Clewiston woman died in a crash Wednesday at 8:30 p.m.

Judy Nell Vann, 74 of Clewiston was traveling north on Flaghole Road in a 2003 Dodge minivan approaching the intersection with US-27 in Hendry county as Armando Izquierdo Nistal, 60 of Hialeah was traveling east on US-27 approaching the intersection with Flaghole Road in a truck.

Vann failed to stop at the stop sign posted south of the intersection. The front of her vehicle collided with the right side of the trailer towed by Nistal's vehicle.

Vann's vehicle rotated and she was ejected from the vehicle and collided with the roadway. The car collided with the guardrail on the south shoulder of US-27 and came to final rest blocking the US-27 eastbound outside lane facing south.

The truck was driven to a controlled stop blocking the US-27 eastbound outside lane facing west.

Vann died in the crash. Nistal and a passenger were not injured. Vann was not wearing a seatbelt.

  1. Vann did not fail to stop at the stop sign, infact she had a heart attack causing her to miss the stop sign and crash. This was a terrible loss, Judy Vann was a great woman, and tried to help everyone she could. She will be very missed.

    1. This makes better sence. Judy will be missed everyday

  2. I don’t know the facts of the crash but I DO KNOW she was a woman with a heart of gold who helped many many people in her community. I know that her absence in Clewiston will be sorely missed. She was a woman of faith so I know she is resting in the arms of Jesus
