LaBelle, Fla. – The Clewiston Transfer Station is now open and the LaBelle Transfer Station will reopen to Hendry County residents beginning Wednesday, June 12th. These facilities required reconstruction following Hurricane Ian.
Transfer Stations are located at 1350 Olympia Avenue in Clewiston and 1280 Forestry Division Road in LaBelle. Hours of operation are 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday – Friday and 7 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturdays.
Hendry County residents may now resume disposal of allowable items at the Transfer Stations.
Loads must be secured. Beginning July 1, a $10.00 fee will be imposed for any unsecured load entering the Transfer Stations.
Yard waste delivered to the Transfer Stations must be free of any other garbage, trash or debris and must be 4 feet in length and 4 inches in diameter. Full trees and oversized stumps must be cut.
White Goods (washers, dryers, water heaters) are allowed.
Tires must be off the rim.
Yard waste, tires and white goods must be separated from normal household trash, prior to delivery to the facility. Loads that are not separated will not be accepted.
Propane tanks, used oil filters, and other hazardous or special wastes are prohibited and will not be accepted. Unacceptable items found after unloading, if identifiable, are to be removed by the customer before the end of the business day.
