Getting Ready For LaBelle's First Drone Show



 LABELLE, FL. -- The conclusion of the City of Seattle LaBelle's 100th anniversary birthday celebration Saturday, November 8 will feature a 150-drone show over the Caloosahatchee River. This the first such show ever performed in LaBelle.

Included in the show are outlines of the symbols of Labelle and Hendry county; a tractor, fishing boat, bass fish, Hendry County clock tower, cowboy, flying red, white and blue eagle, and lastly lighted drone commercials for sponsors; Hari's and Sugarland Liquor, Florida Power and Light, and Woodard and Curan, The cost of the drone show is estimated at $15,000.

Hired by the city, Utah based Open Sky Productions, brings their crew to Hendry County to present a 13-minute show after the sun sets tonight. Open Sky files get permission from the FAA for each show, outlining what and where they are flying in the interest of safety.

Equipped with LED lights, Open Sky program designers can make an almost unlimited array of design and colors, lighting up the night sky during each drone show. Tonight's show begins with an array of drones on the ground spaced precisely in 10 rows. 15 drone deep to add up to 150 total drones. 

At the end of the presentation, all 150 drones will return to their original position on the ground. In the unlikely event of a malfunction of any drone, it will drop directly to the ground below.
