NCL Cruise Scam Says 'Final Notice'

Vacation Travel Club Offers 'Complimentary' 8 Day Cruise

LABELLE, FL. -- Letters by the tens of thousands are circulating through the mail offering what appears to be a free "8 day/7 night cruise for 2 adults." Final Notice, Ticket Voucher Enclosed, says the cover of the mailing.

A cruise "boarding pass" is included for what is promised as a cruise with "room, meals, snacks, activities, and entertainment" all included while on board.

Needless to say, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

The mailing includes a phone number of 1-877-290-0034 and tracking number. Calling within 48 hours gives you a "gas rebate voucher."  The fine print says 90 days advance notice are required for the cruise, which is not sponsored by Norwegian Cruise Lines.

A 90-minute sales presentation is required where you will be asked to buy into a travel club. You will be responsible for a "fuel supplement" and other charges, air travel, and fees including the infamous "agency fees."

Consumers report the fees required in the offer, more than offset any "complimentary" aspect of this scam. Note that missing on the mailing is any indication of a company name or address. The Postal Permit #3950 is from West Palm Beach, Florida, the only indication of where the company operates.

Recommendation: Any offer you receive where a company name and address is lacking is a warning to beware of a high pressure sales pitch for a very expensive product. Don't fall for mailings that promise a lot, but don't reveal who's offering the deal. and at what cost.

Different SCAM same PO Box. Recommend people flood this PO with questions. Perhaps postal Inspector Investigate. I received a letter with a PO Box 21769, West Palm Beach 24 Feb 2014. Letter Offered of a free Android Tablet from the Google Play Gift Department. Something didn't seem right so started checking...similar phone number popped up under different scam. Not sure what the plan is but it is weird. I'm not buying. You shouldn't either.

Mine was for an Android Touchpad Tablet Computer and $100 Restaurant Card. Phone number 855-864-3734. RSVP: UC100113017. "THE VISTA" was printed at the top of the page. I noted an Illegible signature with no typed name. This is such an old and obvious con, I can’t believe it are people still falling for it.

Apparently my blocking function on my phone doesn't work...lol I called the number (855-864-3734, preceeded by *67) and told the agent who answered that their scam has been reported. Less than a minute later, I get a call back from the following number: 386-693-1263. The woman asked had I just called this number. I said, "no...I don't think so." Then she quoted what I said when I called the 855 number...to which I replied, "That doesn't match the number I called, but that was me! The junk you sent me had the heading, 'THE VISTA'. Stop sending your fraudulent mail!" Her reply was (in a very pissed tone), "Ma'am, this is NOT fraud! Have a great day!" LOL

I received the same 'Free Android Tablet & $100 restaurant card' letter with "The
Vista' printed at the top and same illegible scrawled signature. Same phone number and p.o. box as listed in other replies above. Figured it was a scam. Thanks for confirmation!

I just got the same letter today for the free Tablet and $100 restaurant card. I immediately googled the return address, and it matches everyone else's replies. What is different on mine is they have listed a local phone number to call as opposed to an 800 number. I promptly notified my local new station to see if they can run a story for other locals who might receive this letter. Hopefully nobody buys into this one.

I just got the same letter for Norwegian cruise, 8 Days 7 nights/round trip airfare. Number was 855-625-8557. I came online to google the number and see what the no doubt scam was all about. I didn't find the number when I googled, but the letter is definitely the same scam as listed on this page.

I received the an Award Notification, Final Notice Voucher also....for 1897.00 plus 2 adult roundtrip airfare through Norwegian and Royal Caribbean logos also same number as above 1 800-965-1152, ck no. IMS100MAR . Out of curiosity I called and spoke with a gentleman whom was very honest in answering all my questions... The cruise is sponsered through a travel company and the cruise is above board but you have to attend a 90 min. promotional cruise orientation which overs a cruise type club... no purchase is required to receive the cruise and the port charges, taxes are the voucher holders responsibility and has to be paid before boarding. They require a credit card, drivers id and the voucher to receive the cruise this is where i got abit suspicious. They were very specific on you having a non debit card, had to be a credit card....flag!!!!!!! I set up an appt. but after reading all the posts... they will be waiting on my presence for some time... thanks for the info ....saved me alot of wasted time...

I received a letter that said final notice for a complementary Catalina Island "Get Away" Cruise. It has no company listed or return address. Postal Permit #1297. The number they list to call is 800-965-1152. I am definitely not going to call. What is with these scams? How can we turn them in and get rid of them?

I also received a complimentary "Catalina Island Get Away for two adults including 3 days and 2 nights hotel accommodations and round-trip boat service for two on the Catalina Express." There's a check for $649.00 that says "final notice" at the top. The outside of the envelope says "Final Notice - These documents are on record as being sent to you. Please verify all information enclosed as current and correct." No company is listed and to redeem the offer you have to call 1-800-645-6180.

Without a doubt, this is definitely a scam! I wanted to list this information in case others receive the same offer.
