Bicycle Hit By Car - Cyclist Propelled Into Windshield

LABELLE, FL. -- A 2009 Chevy Cobalt hit a pedestrian in Hendry county Saturday night about 8:32 p.m.  Driver Patricia Ramos, 25 and bicyclist Joaquin Osario, 24 were eastbound on County Road 78 at Caloosa Estates Drive,  north of LaBelle.

Ramos was behind the bicyclist and the front of her vehicle struck the cyclist as he was in the eastbound lane. The FHP says the collision impact propelled the cyclist into the windshield of the Chevy. 

After the collision, the cyclist came to rest on the south grassy shoulder of County Road 78. The bicycle was not equipped with lighting or reflective devices and Osario was not wearing reflective clothing at the time of the incident.

Osario was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Charges are pending further investigation said Trooper T. Parks.
