Tyrell Taylor Shot Dead At Zombicon In Fort Myers

One Dead, Five Others Injured By Shots Fired At Downtown Zombie Event

FORT MYERS, FL. -- The Fort Myers Police Department is investigating a shots fired incident that occurred during Saturday night's Zombicon event in Downtown Fort Myers leaving Tyrell Taylor, age 20 dead and five others injured and in the hospital.

The Saturday evening event on 1st Street at Dean St. in downtown Fort Myers, sponsored by a local arts for youth charity, was in it's ninth year, when just before midnight gunfire shots rang out causing hundreds of festival attendees to run for cover.

Five victims were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers. The identity of the deceased person has been reported as Expavious Tyrell Taylor.

Taylor was a student at Clewiston High School where he played varsity football. According to a Facebook profile he was married and living in Miami while attending college. He had previously lived in Okeechobee.
