Sulema “Betty” Carmona (83) of LaBelle, FL, went to be with the Lord on March 30, 2023. Betty was born in Yoakum, TX, on February 17, 1940, to the late Manuel and Anastasia Martinez. She is one of fourteen children. Betty retired from the Hendry County School Board as a paraprofessional for both LaBelle Elementary and LaBelle Middle School after many years of dedicated service.
Betty is survived by her loving husband Ernesto, Sr. of 63 years. After marrying on October 11, 1959, in Rosenburg, TX, Betty and Ernesto, Sr. settled in Florida to begin a new chapter. She is survived by her three children, Margaret Puletti (Mike), Ernesto Carmona, Jr., and Belinda Carmona (Elias, Sr.), her nine grandchildren, Kristina Kisela (Koby), Morgan Puletti, Jennifer Betancourt (Robert), Elias Carmona, Jr. (Katelyn), Angela Carmona, Salvador Carmona, Andrea Carmona, Frank Puletti, and Tacoma Carmona. She has six great grandchildren, with one on her way.
Betty was a loving woman, whose greatest treasure was the family she built. She cherished making breakfast for her family every Sunday morning and baking treats for her grandchildren.
The hobbies she enjoyed most were attending her Red Hat Breakfast Club and going thrift shopping. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
