Kidnapping Of Child Yields Man's Arrest

False Note Found On Girls's Bed
OKEEBHOBEE, FL. -- On March 22, 2013, deputies from the Okeechobee County Sheriff's department responded to a call of a missing/runaway child. It was learned from the mother that she had not seen her 11 year old daughter since that morning.

She found a note on her daughter’s bed indicating that she had been “picked up by a male and female in a black truck; they had a gun; they made me come home and pack my clothes; they picked me and a friend up; Help me”

Upon further investigation, this information was found to be false. 20 year old Ramiro Valenzuela Delacruz had in fact picked the child up and fled to Texas. (photo above)

Authorities were able to track the pair and Delacruz was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Kidnapping (No Bond), Lewd or Lascivious Conduct, Offender Over (18) YOA (No Bond), and Interference with Custody of Parent/Guardian (Bond $75,000.00).

Delacruz was extradited from the State of Texas and is in custody in the Okeechobee County Jail. This case is still under investigation. No further information to be released at this time.
