Four Deaths In Fiery Crash Sunday At 3:35 AM

Four were killed and five injured in a fiery crash Sunday morning at 3:35 am in Charlotte County.

A 2002 Audi A2 driven by Austin Tyler Hirschy, 21 of Port Charlotte was eastbound on Rosemonte Drive approaching the intersection of Sunnybrook Blvd in Charlotte County. A 2010 Chevy Tahoe driven by Michael J. Holcomb, 43 of Whitesburg, Kentucky was northbound on Sunnybrook Blvd approaching Rosemont Dr.

The FHP says Hirschy failed to stop his vehicle at the stop sign.

As a result, the front right of the Audi struck the front left of the Tahoe SUV. Both vehicles came to final rest in the northeast corner of the intersection.

The Audi became engulfed in fire after impact with the Tahoe. All four occupants in the Audi were pronounced deceased on scene. The deceased were Hirschy, Keith J. Williams, 25; Dustin Cory Strong, 23; and William Barr Solomon, 21.

The driver of the SUV and four passengers were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries.

The FHP is continuing the investigation and say it is unknown at this time whether drugs or alcohol was a factor in the Audi failing to stop at the stop sign.
