Fort Myers, Fl. -- A Hendry county man is dead after a crash on SR80 in Lee County Monday morning at 7:16 am.

From the FHP crash report:

Vehicle 1, driven my 31 year old male was traveling west on State Road 80 (Palm Beach Blvd.), east of Hickeys Creekside.

Vehicle 2, driven by 55 year old male from Glades county was traveling east on State Road 80 (Palm Beach Blvd.) west of Hickeys Creekside. He had minor injuries.

Vehicle 1 was driving too fast for conditions, traveled across the grass center median, entered the eastbound travel lanes and collided with Vehicle 2. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Driver 1 was pronounced deceased on scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
