Vehicle 1 (Sedan), 33 year old male driver from Port St Lucie was traveling south on State Road 29, approaching slower traffic and Island Road in Glades County at 6:30 am Friday morning.
Vehicle 3 (Pickup Truck) and Vehicle 5 (Pickup truck towing trailer) were traveling south on State Road 29, behind Vehicle 1.
Vehicle 2 (Pickup Truck) and Vehicle 4 (Pickup truck) were traveling north on State Road 29, approaching Island Road.
Vehicle 1 entered the northbound travel lane, in an attempt to pass the slower traffic.
The front of Vehicle 1 collided with the front of Vehicle 2 on the northbound travel lane.
Post collision, Vehicle 1 collided with Vehicle 3 and Vehicle 4.
Driver 1 was ejected from Vehicle 1 and pronounced deceased on scene. His 23 year old passenger from Port St. Lucie had serious injuries.
Post collision, the trailer portion of Vehicle 5 and Vehicle 2 collided. Driver 2, 28 from North Ft. Myers had serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
