Zunida L. Ruiz Diaz, 53 of Clewiston was traveling south on Flaghole Rd., north of Kilpatrick Rd. in mid-Hendry county at 2:57 p.m. Monday in a 2001 Chevy Aveo when for reasons unknown, he failed to maintain control.
The vechicle traveled off the roadway onto the west grass shoulder. and traveled over a grass berm and entered a water filled canal. The driver was extricated fro the canal and transported to Hendry Regional Medical Center where he later expired at the hospital.
