Jewel the 2nd youngest of 12 children. Growing up, Jewel’s family lived on South Florida Islands, Marco Island, Sadie Cyprus, other remote areas. Her family survived the depression by moonshining, hunting, and living with the Seminoles. When times got tough, Jewel taught her husband and others how to gator hunt and sell hides to supplement their income. Jewel’s idea of fun was swamp buggy racing and her hobbies fishing and cooking.

She is survived by her daughters Melody Townsend, June Parker, and Judy Hicks (Jim). Jewel “Nana” is survived by biological and adopted grandchildren: Robin Thomas, Rhonda Kosh (Michael), William Johnson, III (Brandi), Brian Johnson, Jewel Sanchez (Adam), and Renate Bernhardt, great grandchildren: Aaron Mann, Carolyn Paige Kosh, Justin Moss (Heather), Michelle Kilosky (Ski), Margaret Hernandez (Shane), Marlena Abanto-Hollans (Joshua), Marcy Edwards, Aaron Kosh (Brandi), Melody Danielle Mundy (Matthew), Ariel Cline (Joshua), Terrah Thomas, Adam Rome Sanchez, Seth Tynan Sanchez, William Allen Johnson, IV, Francisco Kendrick (Johnson), Isaiah Johnson-Whidden, Kiely Bernhardt, and Makenzie Fort. Great Greatgrandchildren: 26

Cedric Cockram, age 82, of LaBelle, passed away April 24, 2021 in LaBelle. He was born July 4, 1938 in LaBelle, FL, to the late John S and the late Emily (MacDaniel) Cockram. 

Mr. Cockram married Diana Fussell. Cedric worked as an Air Conditioning Repairman and Maintenance for Hendry County Government for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from September 1957- September 1961 as a Radio Intelligence Operator. 

Survivors include his loving wife; Diana “Sally” Cockram of LaBelle, two sons; Willie and his wife Ansley, and Ced and his wife Victoria, grandchildren; John, Kallie, Mason, Adeline and Sheldon, he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2021 at First Christian Church with Pastor W.T. Maddox, Jr officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Akin-Davis Funeral Home - LaBelle.

David G Chancy, age 80, of Clewiston, passed away April 22, 2021 in Clewiston. He was born Jan. 31, 1941 in Belle Glade, FL, to the late William M and the late Erie Elizabeth (Strength) Chancy.

He was a Salesman for Frito Lay.

Survivors include his wife: Patricia (Buxton) Chancy
two daughters: Patricia Ann Watson-Jones and Davida Lynn Chancy
two sisters: Alice Higgenbotham and Ruth Ann Hines
7 Grandchildren & 1 Great Grandchild,

Funeral services was held Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 11:00 am at Akin-Davis Funeral Home, Clewiston with Rev. Josh Caraway officiating.

Visitation was Tuesday from 1030 to 11 AM at Akin-Davis Funeral Home, Clewiston, FL.
