Danika Fornear In Court For Theft Of Laptop

OKEECHOBEE, FL -- Danika Joy Fornear, 43, was arrested in LaBelle on a warrant from Okeechobee, Fl on April 21. The charge was 3rd degree grand theft. 

She was transferred from the Hendry County jail to Okeechobee and released on $5,000 bond.

She is accused of larceny in the taking of a laptop computer valued at $750 owned by the Okeechobee News sometime between November 23, 2021 and March 21, 2022. The warrant for her arrest was made on March 27.

Fornear was a writer for the Caloosa Belle newspaper. Danika Fornear, (Dem.) ran for election to the Florida House of Representatives to represent District 79 in 2020. 

She lost in the general election on November 3, 2020. She was cited by the Elections Division for filing a late financial report during the election cycle.

Fornear was arrested on E. Yeomans Ave in LaBelle when Sheriff's Deputy Kiara Rosado responded to a minor accident, and found Fornear had an active warrant out for her arrest.

On May 19 Assistant State Attorney Rubi Prieto Dial filed an information charging Fornear for the alleged crime.

She is to appear June 29 at 1:30 for a docket call in Okeechobee. She is represented by Jeff Gorman of Stuart, Fl.

    Danika's history of theft, deceit, and cruelty to animals goes back to other complaints and court appearances. She will avoid all issues and will address any requests as an attack on her personal life.
