LaBelle (September 2, 2026) – Zachary Leekirk Williams Sr., of Clewiston, was found guilty as charged of Tampering With or Fabricating Physical Evidence, Resisting/Obstructing Officer W/Out Violence, Possession of Controlled, Substance w/Intent (1,000 ft. School), Possession of Controlled Substance w/Intent (1,000 ft. School), Possession of Cannabis - Over 20 Grams, Unlawful Use Of A Two-Way, Communication Device and Possession of a Place with Knowledge of Trafficking, Sale or Manufacture of a Controlled Substance.
Assistant State Attorney Haylie Gutierrez, of the Special Victims Unit, and Assistant State Attorney Trevor Selph prosecuted the case.
On June 27, 2025, the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at the defendant’s duplex. After the SWAT team made entry, it was discovered the defendant had apparently flushed evidence. The tank lid was out of place and there were empty baggies, a spoon with cocaine residue,and a single Oxycodone pill.
During the search of the residence, a digital scale with a powdery substance was found in the kitchen, as well as a bottle of a substance used in the mixing of illegal narcotics such as cocaine, to make a larger amount of the substance, known as “cutting” the product.
A search warrant was done on the defendant’s phone and evidence in the phone, which the defendant admitted was his phone at trial, revealed numerous drug sales of various substances.
Sentencing is scheduled for October 28, 2026.
