$5000 Raised For Homeless Shelter

LABELLE, FL. -- The "Birds Have Houses Why Shouldn't People" charity event held at Florida Community Bank on Saturday, August 16 was a huge success.  Not only did supporters meet their goal of raising $5,000 for the Hendry/Glades Homeless Coalition, awareness of the issue in Hendry and Glades county was raised as well.

In keeping with the event's theme, birdhouses painted by local artisits and children were auctioned to the highest bidder. The majority of funds raised came through sponsorships from both community businesses and individuals.
