Violent Storms Hit Central Florida



Lakeland Airshow Hit By Violent Weather

LAKELAND, FL. -- One of the world's largest airshows and pilot gatherings was hit by violent thunderstorms Thursday afternoon March 31st.

About 50 display and personal aircraft were damaged at the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport and several people taken to the hospital for minor injuries. Many of the exhibitor's tents and displays were damaged be the high winds and rain.

The Sun 'n Fun International Fly-In And Expo at Lakeland, Florida will continue Friday through Sunday with featured performances by the Navy's Blue Angels.
