Teen Charged With Shooting Victim Over X-Box

CLEWISTON, FL -- On April 20, 2020, 17 year old Jasheed Daquone Stephens, of Clewiston, Florida was brought to the Hendry County Sheriff's Office by his mother and turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

On April 5, Hendry County Sheriff’s Office was approached by the 17 year old victim who told deputies he had been stabbed in the face. While retrieving first aid equipment to attend to the victim’s injuries, the 17 year old drove himself to the hospital, where it was discovered that he had been shot in the face.

It was reported to Investigators that Stephens had been asking to purchase a play station or X-box Station; the victim said that he had one he could sell Stephens for $150.00. Both the victim and Stephens arranged to meet later to complete the transaction; it was at that time, that Stephens opened his backpack and removed a firearm shooting the victim in the head.

Monday evening, after turning himself in, Hendry County Deputies did place 17 year old Jasheed Daquone Stephens, of Clewiston, Florida under arrest on charges of Attempted Murder, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Display of Firearm during a Felony and Robbery with a Firearm. Stephens was transported to and is being held at the Department of Juvenile Justice.
