Hurricane Clean Up Worker Charged In Port LaBelle Murder

LABELLE, FL. -- On Thursday, October 6, 2022, at approximately 7:00 am, Hendry County Deputies responded to the parking lot area of the Port LaBelle Inn, after receiving a call of a shooting.

When deputies arrived on scene they found a man, later identified as 29-year-old Messiah Devon Grier, of San Antonio, Tx, lying in a large pool of blood.

It was reported that 29-year-old Messiah Devon Grier and 36-year-old Vincent Harris, both of San Antonio, and employed with ServPro, became involved in an argument that became physical.

Witnesses stated that Harris shot Grier then later left the scene in a green in color Servpro van.


Suspect Harris was later located traveling east on State Road 80 and was detained by Glades County Sheriff’s Office in central Hendry County.

Harris was arrested on charges of Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Harris is being held in the Hendry County Jail with No Bond.
