LaBelle's Easton Burchard Dies

Former LaBelle City Commissioner

LABELLE, FL. -- Ernest Easton Burchard, age 70, of LaBelle died Saturday, October 16, 2010 in Lehigh Acres.

Easton was a Deacon at Caloosa Baptist Church of LaBelle as well as a City Commissioner of LaBelle for over 20 years. He worked throughout Southwest Florida as a General Contractor (Burchard the Builders), and spent the last decade of his career with Hendry County Building and Zoning.

Easton was also the Director of the Hendry County Area Housing Commission and was a member of LaBelle Masonic Lodge #379. He was veteran of the United States Air Force. 

Burchard was born Oct. 27, 1939 in Fort Myers, the son of the late Robert Everette Burchard Sr. and the late Ella Margaret (Forrey) Burchard.

Easton is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ramona and his loving family, son: Paul (Cathy), daughter: Sonja, two brothers: Bobby and Billy, granddaughters, Corine (Mark), Julie (Adam), Amy (James) and Danna (James). He was also a loving grandpa to nine great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wed. October 20, 2010, 11:00 am at Caloosa Baptist Church, 137 Church Way, LaBelle with Dr. Les Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Denaud Cemetery, LaBelle.

Visitation will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Akin-Davis Funeral Home, LaBelle. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Caloosa Baptist Church Building Fund.
