Clewiston Sugar Festival Entertains Thousands

CLEWISTON, FL. -- The annual Clewiston Sugar Festival wraps up this afternoon with entertainment, food, and exhibits through the streets of central Clewiston.

Thousands enjoyed the perfect weather with clear skies, looking at antique tractors and farm equipment, marveling at classic cars and trucks, tasting food, getting free goodies from U.S. Sugar and Southern Gardens; lots of rock candy, sugar cane, sunglasses, orange juice and the opportunity to win a raffle.

Scheduled each March, dozens of arts and craft vendors reported good sales among the throngs of visitors to Clewiston today. Kids had a special set up with lots of rides, rock climbing and things to burn off a bit of energy. Set this year on St. Patrick's Day, lots of wearing of the green was noted.
