LABELLE, FL. -- On Tuesday, March 20th, the Kiwanis Club of LaBelle welcomed guest speaker, Lisa Sands from United Way. She discussed the upcoming event "Swing Into Spring" which is their annual fundraiser/dinner held at Riverbend MotorCoach Resort in LaBelle.
Lisa explained how United Way changes lives for the better. When people invest in United Way, they help people in need. It helps to make families strong, feed the hungry, help children grow and develop to their full potential and help families restore their lives.
All of the money raised stays local. Any gift to United Way goes directly to meet the needs of our local communities in Hendry/Glades making our communities a better place to live and to work.
Lisa coordinated one of many community events, this one at the United Way House in Moore Haven this week including a visit by the Harry Chapin Mobile Food Bank, and displays by a dozen community organizations offering help to local residents.
Tickets are on sale now at United Way and Sponsorships are available. Contact United Way for more details. The LaBelle Kiwanis has been a Sponsor for United Way for many years.
