Dorothy Jackson Whitehead passed away to her heavenly home on July 25th, 2018 at Hendry Regional Medical Center in Clewiston, Florida. Mrs. Whitehead was born on April 19, 1929 in Greene County, Tennessee to her parents Charlie and Cora Morrison Jackson. She was a graduate of Baileyton High School and Greeneville School of Commerce. She married Joseph Dawson Whitehead on September 2, 1949. The Whitehead’s moved to Johnson City where J.D. worked for the Trailways Bus Company and Dorothy was a homemaker and retired Florist. They lived at 710 Lincoln Avenue in Johnson City.
Mrs. Whitehead was a lifetime member of the Tennessee Parent-Teachers Association and Charter Member over fifty years of Clark Street Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Clewiston when she retired, being active in the Sunday School and Choir programs at both churches. She and her husband retired to Clewiston, Florida in 1987.
Mrs. Whitehead is survived by her son Joe (Sassy) of Clewiston, Florida, Grandchildren Melissa Whitehead Carter (Josh), Joshua, and two Great Grandchildren, Jaxson Reid Carter (age 3) and Kaison Joe Carter (age 1), all from Clewiston, Florida. Dorothy was also survived by her brothers Norman Jackson from Fall Branch, TN and Mike Jackson from Greeneville, TN. She had two special loving sister in laws Mary Alice Whitehead and Alma Jackson, both from Greeneville, TN. Dorothy had many nieces and nephews, Jan Kiker (Eric) from Greeneville, TN, Carolyn Whitehead Carrier from Bristol, TN, Keith McAmis (Leslie) From Alcoa, TN, Jason Jackson (Kristi) from Cleveland, TN, and Terry Smith (Judy) from Savannah, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. (2007), son Jeffrey Lynn (1972), her mother and father, 2 brothers – Paul Jackson and Alfred Jackson, 2 sisters – Ruby Smith and Billie Jo McAmis.
Mrs. Whitehead’s funeral service was held at Morris-Baker Chapel in Johnson City on Tuesday, July 31st. The family received friends from 11 AM to 12PM with a service and graveside interment at Rose Lawn Cemetery immediately following. A memorial service took place on Saturday, July 28th at 11 AM in Clewiston, Florida at First Baptist Church. All friends and family are welcome to attend to celebrate Mrs. Whitehead’s wonderful life! It is with great sadness that the family of Anthony Curella, age 66, of Labelle, announce his passing on July 28, 2018.
Anthony was born November 3, 1951 in Buffalo, NY, to the late Bernard and the late Jessie (Hoyal) Curella.
Anthony has been married to his high school sweetheart and best friend Pamela (Langlois) Curella for over 42 magical and wondrous years.
Anthony will be lovingly remembered by his caring and compassionate wife Pamela, his daughters Theresa M. (Curella) See and husband Catlin See, Marie A. (Curella) Hubner and husband Scott Hubner and his son Anthony A. Curella. Anthony is also survived by his grandchildren Ulton & Amsten See and Mason Hubner. He is also leaving behind his brothers Bernard and Joseph Curella and his sister Angelina Salisbury and nephew, Fred Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his step mother, Jackie Cruella.
Anthony held various positions over the years from a skilled carpenter to a heavy equipment mechanic. However, those who knew him well know that his true passion in life aside from his family was music. An avid bass guitar player and talented vocalist, Anthony performed all over this state and for various charities over the years. Anthony lived to bring people together through song and always believed that good music helped the soul. Many people knew of Anthony and his late father Bernard Curella by way of their bar, the Alva Country Diner formally Bernie’s Hideaway.
A Celebration of Anthony’s life was held Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11:00am at Akin-Davis Funeral home. Visitation was one hour before the celebration. Burial will be in Fort Denaud Cemetery.

Kenneth Roland Fields, age 62, of Clewiston, passed away August 1, 2018 in Clewiston.
He was born July 14, 1956 in Goldsboro, NC, to the late Jesse Roland and Virginia Lee (Coates) Fields.
Survivors include his wife: Sandra (Sprinkle) Fields

1 daughter: Meghan
1 brother: Robbie Sammons
1 sister: Debbie Quinn
He worked as a Railroad Engineer for US Sugar Corporation

Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 PM at Akin-Davis Funeral Home, Clewiston, FL
Anna L Morgan, age 100, of Fort Myers, passed away July 30, 2018 in Fort Myers.
She was born Nov. 18, 1917 in Queens, NY, to the late Aloise and the Grace Spahn.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday August 11, 2018 at 12 PM at the Tice Methodist Church, with Rev. Juan Ramos officiating.
