Fundraiser And Rally Scheduled For October 13

FORT DENAUD, FL. -- The Hendry County Democratic Party Rally/Fundraiser is set for Saturday, October 13, from 4 o'clock until sunset at 6:59 p.m. at 4473 County Road 78, LaBelle.

All Democratic candidates who will appear on the Hendry County ballot for the November 6 midterm election have been invited.  Some are still attempting to arrange their schedules to be able to appear in person.  Others, including Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum, have indicated they will have either a well-known and highly respected surrogate attend for them or may possibly have a special video message to be shown at the event or will make a real time telephone call during the event that all can hear.

The majority of the hors d'oeuvres as well as the special sangria for the event are being prepared by local Democratic volunteers rather than being purchased ready made from local sources.  The FGCU Jazz Ensemble is scheduled to play for two hours, and Scott Perry will have a 27 ft. sailboat available for mini-cruises on the Caloosahatchee at no charge; although, the crew will accept tips if offered.  Of course, all candidates attending will accept individual contributions to their campaigns subject to their already published guidelines.

Party chairman Joe Thomas says tickets are available at Eventbrite.com as well as from various precinct members in Clewiston, Felda, and LaBelle.  Some canvassers may also have tickets when they make contacts during the week.  Contact hendrydems@embarqmail.comor leave a message at (863)234-8890 to avoid having to pay a processing fee for ordering tickets online.  Tickets may be available at the door if any are still available.

Thomas says directions to the event are available online but thinks the simplest directions are to use the Fort Denaud Road off State Road 80 either coming from the East or the West, cross the Fort Denaud Bridge, turn right and take the 3rd driveway on the right that will be well marked.  Valet parking will be provided at no extra charge.
