Obituaries - Gloria Hughes, Brigido Diaz, Curtis Hicks

Gloria Kay Hughes, age 73, of West Palm Beach passed away Feb 28, 2021, in Lake Worth.She was born March 04, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Dewey F. Thomas and Anna B. Ferguson. 

She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church and worked at First Bank of Clewiston for many years before she transferred to the Moore Haven branch and retired a few years later. 

She was loved by many in the community and her family. She was preceded in death by her late husband James R. Hughes who died on June 17, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her step father Pershing West and brother Richard Thomas. 

She leaves behind her loving children: Mark Corey and partner Wendy Creed of Brownsburg, Indiana. Her daughter Jennifer Sposato and partner Susan Gadzinski of West Palm Beach, Fl. and step son James P. Hughes of Clewiston, Fl. sister Barbara Brown and partner Garry Culleny of Arcadia, Fl. and sister-in-law Janet Thomas (Richard's wife) of Franklin. Indiana. 

She also leaves behind several loving nieces and nephews. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Community Presbyterian Church Clewiston Florida or a foundation of your choosing. A celebration of Gloria’s life to be held at a later date.

Brigido Perez Diaz, age 77, of LaBelle, passed away February 26, 2021 in Fort Myers. He was born Feb. 1, 1944 in Mexico, to the late David Perez and the late Esperanza Diaz 

Survivors include his wife: Alejandra Merlin three sons: Victor V Perez, Juan Alejandro Perez and Alberto F Perez a daughter: Noemi A Perez two brothers: Valentino Perez and Abel Perez 11 Grandchildren 

 Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 10:00 am at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, LaBelle with Father Juan Carlos Sack officiating.

Curtis Louwayne Hicks, age 75, of LaBelle, passed away February 25, 2021, in Lehigh Acres. He was born Nov. 20, 1945, in Athens, TN, to the late William Carson and the late Gladys Janis (Balliew) Hicks. 

Mr. Hicks married Beverly Hicks, she survives. 

Curtis worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator. Curtis was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. 

He is survived by his loving Wife Beverly May Hicks, Sons Curtis Hicks, Thomas Hicks, Gary Hicks; he also leaves behind eight grandchildren and one great grandchild and many extended family members and close family friends. 

He was preceded in death by Carson Hicks (father), Gladys Hicks (Mother), Steve Hicks (brother), Tony Hicks (brother), Tyler Hicks (nephew).
