Art Bell Midnight In The Desert Starts Tonight
It's clear Bell, after last nights "test" broadcast, still has lots of loyal fans notwithstanding some glitches hampering last night's show as apparent buffering of the digital internet signal left parts of the show unintelligible for brief periods, causing Bell to terminate the test show early after 2 1/2 hours.
The official start of the broadcast is tonight and fans can hear him week nights from midnight until 3 a.m. (eastern time). Bell broadcasts from his home studio in the high desert of Nevada and is expected to continue talking with guests and callers about paranormal and science topics via internet streaming and some AM, FM, and short wave radio broadcast stations.
Bell departed the popular overnight radio show (which he created and hosted,) Coast To Coast AM in 2003 and ten years later joined satellite broadcaster Sirius XM but quit after six weeks.
The new Art Bell show will be streamed live on the internet through Dark Matter Digital Network with an option for listeners to subscribe monthly. Additionally some AM, FM and shortwave radio stations have signed on to simulcast the live show as well, all agreeing to pay music fees to copyright owners if they air the show and to expect a free-form show with station breaks at Bell's choosing.
