Obituaries - Edwardo Nieves, Kenneth Carter

Edwardo Nieves, age 58, of LaBelle, passed away May 29, 2016 in Fort Myers. He was born Feb. 1, 1958 in New York, NY, to the late Juan Antonio Nieves and Ester (Almodovar) Cabascando.

He is survived by his wife: Rosa Elena (Rosado) Nieves, children: Rachel Rosado (Christopher), Rosemarie DeLeon (David), Ruby Nieves (Juan), Edwardo Nieves, Jr. (Tiffanie) and Nataile Burke (Kevin), mother: Ester Cabascando, seventeen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm at Akin-Davis Funeral Home, LaBelle, FL.

Kenneth Michael Carter, age 72, of Moore Haven, passed away May 30, 2016, in Weston. He was born April 26, 1944, in Camp Atterbury, IN, to the late George Roy and the late Ada Mae (Barker) Carter. 

He was a resident of Moore Haven for the past 10 years. He loved his dogs, fishing, going to church, the Indianapolis 500, and his wife and family.

Survivors include his wife: Lona June (Ellis) Carter; daughter: Cynthia Carter; sons: Michael (Dawn) Carter, and Brian (Courtney) Carter; grandchildren: Holly, Jessica, Kate, Luke, Audrey, and Edith; and great-grandchildren, Makayla, Haylie, C.J., and Dylan.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 5, 2016, at 12:00 p.m. following the 11:00 a.m. regular service at Community Presbyterian Church, Clewiston, with Rev. Thomas Slager officiating. Flowers are welcome for the service or donations can be made to Community Presbyterian Church, 407 Royal Palm Avenue, Clewiston, FL 33440.
