IMMOKALEE, FL. -- April 7th & 8th CREW's 4th Annual Wildflower Festival -
The CREW Land & Water Trust will host a lecture by Glen Stacell (co-author
of A Guide to Common Native Wildflowers of Collier County, Florida) titled
"S.W. Florida Wildflowers" on Friday, April 7th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at
FGCU (Ben Hill Griffin Hall, Room 107).
Saturday, April 8th, 8:30 AM to Noon, Guided Wildflower Hikes at the CREW
Marsh Trailhead will be lead by Glen Stacell, Roger Hammer (Author of
Everglades Wildflower), Dr. David Cooper and Dr. John Murray. Exhibits by
local organizations and a native plant nursery will be set up. Presentation
of the Wildflower Art and Photography Contest winners will be at 11:30 AM.
The event is free, although donations to support the Trust's preservation
efforts are appreciated. Reservations (239-657-2253) for the guided hikes
are helpful but not required. Hikers are encouraged to bring a beverage and
wear old shoes. The trailhead is located at 4600 Corkscrew Road, 2 miles
south of State Road 82 or 18 miles east of exit 123 off I-75.
