United Way Distributes Food To 246 Families In Moore Haven

MOORE HAVEN, FL -- United Way Hendry/Glades staff Greg Gunter and Lisa Sands assisted Harry Chapin Food Bank with a drive thru food distribution today in Glades County.

246 families received much needed shelf-stable food supplies along with frozen meat, fresh bananas and potatoes. This was the first drive thru distribution in Glades County since the COVID-19 pandemic started.

Glades County Public Safety (Angie Colegrove, Heidi White and Marisa Shivers), Glades County Sheriff’s Department (including Sheriff Hardin, Gary Johnson, Donnie Watts and Victor Alvarez), Glades County Road Department (Peggy Higginbotham and Patty Parson), Jamie Brown, Colleen Hardin and the other volunteers assisted in making this a safe, successful distribution to the community. The United Way will be serving the community again in two weeks.
