Crash On State Road 80 In Hendry County Leaves One Dead, One In Hospital

LABELLE, FL. -- A sedan was traveling west on SR-80 in the outside lane, .4 miles east of Phillips Road in western Hendry County as a moped was traveling west on SR-80 in the outside lane, .4 miles east of Phillips Road, in front of the sedan. 

The front right of the car collided with the rear of the moped. After the collision, the moped driver and passender separated from the cycle.

The sedan continued west and came to a controlled stop on the north shoulder of SR-80. The moped operator was pronounced deceased on the scene and the passender was transported to Lehigh Regional Hospital. The crash remains under investigation.

All person were 30 year old males from LaBelle, Fl. The moped operator and passenger were not wearing helmets.
