Hendry County, Florida Declares Emergency Pending Possible Winds And Rain Today

LABELLE, FL. -- Hendry County Officials have declared a local State of Emergency effective beginning at 9 pm on Sunday, November 8, 2020, in preparation for the potential threat of Tropical Storm Eta.

This declaration will allow the County access to essential resources, such as funding reimbursements and emergency procurement of critical supplies, as response to this tropical storm event may require.

Hendry County Emergency Management (EM) Officials are urging residents to prepare for the possibility of tropical storm conditions beginning Sunday afternoon through Monday night.

Preparations should include ensuring yard debris is cleared and loose items are secured. Please ensure that all garbage cans and lids are removed from the road right-of-way so as not to block drainage pipes or become flying debris.

Residents are encouraged to sign up for Hendry County related emergency alerts by texting “HENDRYFLA” to 888777.
