CLEWISTON, FL. -- Angie Burnette just celebrated 30 years working for Goodwill in Clewiston and is the 2021 Breakthrough Achiever of the Year at Goodwill.
Through her job, Angie has found a sense of purpose. “She loves her job. That’s all she talks about,” says Ronal Cantley her Sunrise Direct Support Professional. “She can’t wait to get to work. The day before she works, she goes to bed at like 7 p.m. at night, just so she can get up at 5 a.m. to get to work. She loves it.”
“Angie is a wonderful young woman. She loves working at Goodwill,” says Sunrise Director of Operations, Deborah Howell.
“I take her to work a lot of mornings,” says Roxiann Engel, Sunrise Residential Program Director. “and she’s like, ‘Come on we got to go. Come on we got to go. We got to set my phone.’ She’s just an amazing lady.”
“Goodwill has done so much for her, for her independence and helping her with her finances because she does live alone with roommates,” says Ms. Howell. “Her job helps her tremendously.”
Angie says, “I’m going to stay as long as I can!”
“She’s got a great attitude,” says Clewiston Store Manager, Xavion Scott.
