CLEWISTON, Fla. – Hendry Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is pleased to announce the selection of its newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO), David Theroux, MBA, FACHE, effective June 16, 2025.
Following the retirement of long-serving CEO R.D. Williams, a nationwide CEO search was conducted by the Hendry County Hospital Authority (HCHA) Board through its advisory partner, Ovation Healthcare. This expanded search ensures that the most fitting candidate is chosen to lead our rural community hospital.
With 24 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, David Theroux has advanced through progressive roles at HRMC over the last 18 years. His background spans clinical cardiopulmonary care, management, and senior leadership – including serving in his most recent role as HRMC’s Compliance Officer and Chief Operating Officer since 2018.
David brings deep experience in clinical operations, life safety, emergency management, compliance, and facility operations as well as trusted leadership that continues to strengthen HRMC and our community. David holds a master’s degree in business administration from South University, is credentialed as a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and holds a National Rural Hospital Association CEO Certification (RHCEOC). David’s tenure at HRMC has demonstrated leadership during crises – including cybersecurity and pandemic events, and has reinforced operational resilience and regulatory compliance, while his focus on culture and staff development continue to elevate care quality and employee engagement.
David has focused on serving rural health throughout his career and is honored to reaffirm his commitment to the HRMC mission and elevating his contributions to meet the needs of our community. In his personal time, David enjoys spending time with his family, is an avid gamer, and drumming enthusiast. He and his wife Wendy are parents to three adult children.
