Glades County Proposed Taxes In The Mail To Property Owners

MOORE HAVEN, FL. -- Glades County property owners will be receiving their 2025 Notice of Proposed Taxes (also known as the TRIM notice or Truth-in-Millage) soon.

This notice contains your property’s market value as of January 1, 2025, the millage (tax rates) proposed by each local government, and an estimate of the amount of property taxes owed, based on the proposed tax rates.

This is not a tax bill. You will receive a tax bill from the Glades County Tax Collector in November, 2025.

MARKET VALUE: Your 2025 market value is based upon 2024 sales of comparable properties. The Glades Property Appraiser office can answer questions about your property’s market value.

ASSESSED VALUE: The assessed value is the market value less any assessment reductions, such as the "Save Our Homes" cap. Florida law limits how much the assessed value of homesteaded property can increase each year.

EXEMPTIONS: Property tax exemptions reduce the assessed value of your property and could result in a tax savings benefit. If you would like more information about property tax exemptions, visit the property appraisers office, call or email. Just a few minutes of your time, could save you money.

TAXABLE VALUE: This is the assessed value after exemptions have been applied, such as homestead exemption.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THE PROPERTY APPRAISER DOES NOT DETERMINE YOUR TAX RATES; those are set by your local taxing authorities. If you have questions regarding tax rates and would like to get in contact with the taxing authority, their contact information, along with the date, time, and location of their public hearing is printed on the front of the Notice of Proposed Property Taxes.
