PAHOKEE MAN ARRESTED ON CHARGES OF ATTEMPTED MURDER
On Thursday, September 4, 2025, in the afternoon hours, 24-year-old Pahokee resident, Jakobie McKinsey Jones, turned himself in on an active warrant for charges of Attempted Murder, Firing a Gun in Public and Possession of a Firearm by Florida Convicted Felon.
On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at approximately 5:00pm, Hendry County Deputies responded to the area of Texas Ave., in the Harlem community of Clewiston, Florida.
Upon their arrival, deputies along with Detectives met with the victim who stated that while riding a four-wheeler in the Harlem community a vehicle passed while stopped at a stop sign. The vehicle came to a halt a short distance away and a man dressed in black with his face covered with a ski mask, exited the passenger side of the vehicle and pointed a firearm at him. The man, later identified as Jones, raised what was described as an AR15 style pistol and fired several shots at the victim, grazing the side of the victim’s leg.
At the time of the incident, Detectives were unable to locate Jones and requested an Arrest Warrant on charges of Attempted Murder, Firing a Weapon in Public and Possession of a Firearm by a Florida Convicted Felon.
Jones turned himself into Hendry County Authorities where he was taken into custody and his being held in the Hendry County Jail. Jones is currently being held on $80,000.00 bond.
