Hendry Glades Community Heath Fair

Nova University Provides Free Health Check Ups

CLEWISTON, FL. -- Sunday was a big day at Clewiston's Hendry Regional Medical Center, hosting the Hendry-Glades Community Health Fair.

Hundreds of area residents came to take advantage of free medical examinations and referrals provided by doctors and students at Nova Southeastern University from it's Health Professions Division. About 200 from the university volunteered their time in Clewiston Sunday, and at Belle Glade's Health Fair Saturday.

Health and safety exhibits were on the hospital grounds under tents, sponsored by the Everglades Area Health Education Center, Ace Homecare, Hendry Regional Medical Center, Hendry/Glades Health Departments, Lake Okeechobee Rural Health Network, Nova's American Medical Student Association, Lions Club of Clewiston, and the Kiwanis of Clewiston helped with food. Many local medical professionals and community leaders were also on hand for the event.
